Here it worked a little different.
I'm testing Mandrake 7.1 beta 3.
I have ONLY a LS120 on the one system I installed it on. I was unable to
make a rescue disk at all. I kept getting errors. One thing I noticed is
that I get the error message that the LS120 is reporting two different
sizes. 0 and 12X,xxx (I don't recall the exact

Did you try it with no disk in the drive? For instance, I just ran lilo
from the bash prompt to try to resolve a problem with NAV in Winbloz and
it gave the same error. Try it on your system with no disk in it and see
what it does. ??
