Just installed Mandrake 8.0 on my old Umax J700 with a PowerPC upgrade usb
card and turbomax ide card. went relatively smoothly after i used a
different kernel to boot the installer. but now i'm trying to get
everything configured and am running into problems.
I had problems with sound at first

Anyone got any ideas how i can improve the excruciatingly slow video
performance under XF86 with this setup?
I am running at 1024x768, 32 bit colour, and everything works fine, it's
just that screen drawing is slow, especially when moving windows around,
the redraw trails movement really badly
