Hi all.
Just wondering if anyone out there uses an electric rice cooker for
anything other than rice? I'm thinking of buying one, but not sure how
much use i'd get out of it. Any help would be much appreciated.

Funny someone should ask about rice cookers. I just bought one from qvc
today. it's a ten cup cooker, but that's okay. I'm sure you can steam
veggies or you can be creative with it. I don't know what the

I use my electric rice cooker to make steel cut oats. It is very useful for
other things too. I have even made chicken stew in mine. I highly recommend
them because they are usually more portable than a real crock pot.

I boil potatoes, boil pasta, make stew, make omlets, boil rice, fry ground
meat, and make pasta sauce in my rice cooker. I would not do without one.

Something I realized long after getting my rice cooker, that may be of use
to others. The metal plate with the rubber in the middle that goes on the
top of the rice pot in my Panasonic rice cooker is removable, and so is the
rubber grommet from the top plate. It's also machine washable in the
dishw
