The package openssl098e provides both libssl and libcrypto versions compatible with coot. It is available for 64-bit architecture. So, I suggest to try 'yum -y install openssl098e' if it is available for you distribution. I am using it for SL-6, 64-bit for some time now. Hope that helps,
