In my view that more or less sorts it. I knew nothing about your other
connection with Drumadds (spelling varied). Good luck with the Fergusons, they
are numerous, some in and around Ardtrea. Although its for a later period, the
wills available on the PRONI website might show a few Fergusons
I wonder if this could be the townland of Drumadds, near Coagh? Never heard of
a Lord Ferguson, or his castle in East Tyrone. Maybe it's an exaggerated
version, where the reality might have been a wealthy farmer with a larger house

Friday 29th Nov, including tithe records.
It does not indicate though whether these are being made available world wide
or simply at PRONI itself, so best to check on-line after 29th November. The

No travel listings for Irish sea crossings at that time. Interesting how many
people from Tyrone (especially East Tyrone) seem to have settled in Consett
around this time.

the West coast in 2020.

William Carleton was a local Tyrone writer whose work dates from the early to
mid 19th century. When I read his book "Traits and Stories of the Irish
Peasantry" I found phrases I hadn't heard from childhood. It was reprinted
