How about a user who's home directory is a unionfs mount with the
basic file structure R/O and a disposable R/W layer on top of it?

$ perl Makefile.PL | tee foo.out
$ perl
OSes down by architecture -
so you'll be able to get reports on Solaris/SPARC and Solaris/x86
