Yes, in lighttable . I notice this in a simple ''time' sequence. Ususally 3 or 4 images that are totally misplaced and when I try to open a 'misplaced' image another, correctly sequenced, in its place and image appears which then replaces the lighttable position. David On 2020-10-15

With the new version of Darktable, I believe they expanded the options available in the light table's "sort by" combo box, so an existing setting may have been disrupted. Also, I believe the light table collections are always sorted by every criterion in that list -- the one selected by the user
