To calculate MPix from DPI use (length_in_inch*nr_dpi) * (width_in_inch *

So for 4” * 5” film at 3000 dpi you get (4 * 3000) * (5 * 3000) = 180 MPix

Hi,
this question comes up regularly, try looking into the list archive.
IMHO the list consensus is in favour of separate graphics cards, fast
processors are not that important. Make sure that the card and the system both
have enough ram (2gb card, 8gb system as a start).

Hi,
I am trying to use darktable with OpenCL with my NVidia GTX750, using
Debian testing, kernel 3.16 and the NVidia driver 340.32.
According to clinfo, two OpenCL platforms are there. According to
darktable, libOpenCL is not found. In fact, libOpenCL.so.1 is there, as well as
the necessary nvi

For me it works -- I open color zones, choose the saturation tab,
increase saturation for the blues by about 2 units, and move th

The tool you have been searching for is argyll. Use argyll to create the color

Hi,
I've seen there is a relatively low-cost version of the datacolor Spyder Color
Checkr patches (24 patches, 50 €). Here's a documentation for the LAB and RGB
values displayed:

I guess with these values, it wo

Hello everyone,
a few Darktable users in Berlin, Germany decided that Darktable needs a
local user meeting:
We want to talk about our workflow, about the use of equalizers etc., in
a way that is open for beginners and advanced users. Darktable is
powerful and complex, so there are different ways

Hi,
I have noticed that gimp has a different concept of sRGB, upon import it asks
me if I want to convert to its version of sRGB, and that conversion causes
changes especially in lightness.
I understand the licencing issue, but it would be great if the oss tools would
agree on one version of sR
Dear all,
today I managed to fill my /home partition completely using
darktable. I noticed that darktable behaved strangely when new
imported images were displayed without basecurve and basic
sharpening, some thumbnails were missing, and darktable wouldn't
remember my editing actions after that.
still hoping that somebody knows a quicker way...)
Cheers

Hi,
recently I had to edit some portraits for business use. With masks
darktable seems to work very good for most of it. But I would like to
know if there is a better workflow for eye retouching, as I keep
repeating a lengthy pattern:
