yesterday aswell, i was using quitte antique
floppy images (data 090905). I've made a new pair of floppys with the
daily build images from yesterday and that fixed the problem for me.
Are you using a current installer medium or is your's antique aswell ;-)

I've manualy deleted all the partitions on /dev/hda. Then i've a new installation, and
all seems to be working
now. This gives me the idea that parted didn't do the job as it was supose to be.

the 100 Mb Debian netinstall cd-rom system, instead of the
business-card cd.
Removed the fat partition and created some etx3 partitions. Did the
base-install from cd-rom this time.
System is up and running :)
