library is supposed to work (i.e. v2 tags take precidence over v1 tags).
I have quite a few apps that use the feature and the are broken right

I removed Linux from my laptop so I can't test with the new version of
XFree86 drivers. However, I have the same crash on MacOS X operating
system and the fix I found is to use only 65536 colors.
