This looks like you are running a very old kernel (2.4.18), Debian doesn't support this kernel any longer as it has some significant problems. Can you upgrade to one of the Debian 2.4.27 kernels for your architecture and retry this on a vfat partition to see if this still occurs? Micah > Package
