I have eth0 not marked as auto in /etc/network/interfaces because if
I do when ifup -a runs it locks the system up hard.
I am interested in debugging this issue, but as I am new to ifupdown
hacking, I will need some more info. Can you try to set your system
up to strace 'ifup -a'

Hi,
orbit2 is currently on m68k seriously broken and makes packages like
gconf2 unusable (see #336289 and #348010).
The reason is that m68k has some rather unusual alignment rules and this
breaks several alignment assumptions in the orbit2 code.

From #305230 I did learn that newer Sparcs like Ultra 5
also need continues memory (no gaps allowed).
So please keep the memory section in the documentation.

I did use XMMS with Crossfade plugin before switching to mpd.
There was a feature to make a quick fadeout on pause/stop and a quick fadein
on resume. Could this be added to mpd?

Hi Hugo,
This bug is rather old. Can you still reproduce it with the current
archivemail version? You wrote that you've traced it to a single
message. If you still have that file, can you send it to me?
Thanks for your efforts,

Hi,
I looked into this and it turns out to be a problem in orbit2 (see #390516
for more info). The problem is that gconfd-2 fails to start up and
gconftool-2 waits forever for it.
It might be a good idea to make gconftool-2 a bit more robust and let it
check that gconfd-2 started up properly
