much aware of the implications for ACIDBASE (as it has been currently
automatically removed from Etch repository).
Therefore, I think the problem here is time. It would be a pity to lose

I unsuccessfully tried to compile this beta version. When running
./configure, the last message was checking for X... configure: error: Can't
find X libraries. Please check your installation and add the correct paths!

However, I am unable to turn off syntax highlighting at all. Editing
/etc/vim/vimrc, and uncommenting:
