as written in #490235 [1] the package should Build-Depend on libcrack2-dev.
This package was introduced before the Lenny release. [1] contains a trivial
patch to fix this issue.

The attached patch fixes this issue by returning 0 from backend_open() in
src/backend.c if the configuration cannot be read by the user performing the

I formerly built the package for hurd and kfreebsd x86 architectures too but as
far as I know there is no decent OpenGL support for these plattforms and

I have the same issue with the SDL client. I tried the GTK client too and tried
purging and reinstalling freeciv-* packages without a change. I also removed
all freeciv configuration files from $HOME.

e. I modified the session log to strip personal
information. I can give a full log including the body in private mail if it is
needed.
The imap server side is a dovecot server and time is synchronized using ntp on
client and server machines.

Obviously DEHS does not use the current watch file from the package in
unstable but an old version (maybe the one from the version in Lenny).

I had a discussion with upstream these days. The mentioned files will be
removed from the next upstream release 0.74 because the whole OPL emulation
code has been rewritten.
