dialog does not close anymore when a file has finished downloading and
is viewed in an external application. This seems to happen only when the
file is in the cache.

when hddtemp try to read the temp from my cdrom drive (when starting
daemon mode), there an error [1].
smartctl is able to detect this without producing any errors [2]
Could a check be added to avoid [1] errors ?

But that will only reduce the weight of the graph : the problem here is that
some threads overlap : 8 thread entry in debian vs 14 in the
correct graph.
May be that just a config problem, but I tried lot's of things (even a
defaults delete Paje), but the display was still wrong.

reason the setlocale command
is not working as I thought it should in your system. To see if that is
the problem, you can edit the trace file and change all '.' by ',' and try
again. Please report what you find.
I didn't try it, but the LC_NUMERIC=C stuff make me think it should work.
