Package: xmms2-plugin-faad
Severity: serious
Hi,
according to the maintainer of faad2, http://bugs.debian.org/404279
faad2 needs to be removed from Etch. For that to happen, this (binary)
package needs to be removed as well.

To
see that this is possible (or rather,
someone knowledgeable enough has time to do it).
So, we should at least document it inside of the release notes, and
README.Debian, and, if possible without being to invasive, get some
check inside the kernel to print a big warning on bootup, or even refuse

er, I have triggered removal of your package, but
for that to happen, xmms2-plugin-faad needs to be dropped first (I also
filed a bug against that package). It might be worth to invest the work
rather in fixing faad2 however.

Can we expect some progress on this RC-bug? (This question is meant to
the Window Maker-maintainers, of course, not to Steinar.)

Hi,
I just uploaded an NMU that purged the problematic directory
skins/default/winicons/ (and so created a new "upstream" version
+dfsg1). Nothing else was changed, except adding a README.Debian-source
file and of course a proper changelog entry.

Which is clearly a bug in the -dbg-package. I'm going to fix it.
