those, and I think the Debian versions are still based on beta/pre-release
packages from upstream.

No, and I doubt it will be in the future. It current requires too many
libraries to be upgraded for it to be installed, and I don't think the team

And for a very good reason. A NEW package has not be vetted to ensure
that Debian can distribute it by the ftp-masters. For these packages,
that's not an issue, but packages have been rejected by the ftp-masters in
the past for not be distributable by Debian.

specified in great detail. It's a very single-use program, but it's the
application I prefer for ripping CDs.

What are their locale settings, specifically? I believe KDE 4 only handles
strings consistently if they are in UTF-8. IIRC, it was related to such a
limitation in Qt4.
