Hello everyone,
Good news and questions:
I have connected the cdrom to the secondary channel as a slave drive and
everything works. I have hard disk on primary ( master) and no other
devices are connected to the controller.
Probably bad news (or question). I have noticed that during boot, it ne

Hello everyone,
I just downloaded hamm distribution and when I try to install it, the
system lock after detecting IDE CD-ROM. (If I disconnect the CD it works
fine, but then again, I can not boot with CD connected.
Any ideas of how to overcome the problem?
Thank you,

I've found a work-around solution to my problems with startx that I
posted last night. For those who didn't see it, if I executed startx
more than once, my machine would lock up solid.
The solution? I enabled xdm at boot, and now that I'm learning how to
use .xsession I can do what I want.

Hm, so why does the same netscape work under Slackware in 24 bpp color

This might be related to your other post. If you are running in 24 bpp
try changing your color depth and restart X. Just a guess.

When I try to update stable using dselect and adding stable-updates to
the distributions to get, dselect chooses m68-bin-files for the update
instead of i386-files (most of the times).
What is the right way to use the stable-updates-distribution with
dselect?
