de ntfs a vfat, eso es lo que he hecho y ha funcionado.
Por otro lado, pienso que talvez necesitaba instalar algun paquete relacionado
con ntfs y que por eso solo veia el disco como de lectura y no le podia cambiar

lo general los nuevos drivers dejan un ayudante en el menu de herramientas

crontab was being sent to the smarthost. I looked at /etc/mailname
which had been set to the value I'd entered into the debconf dialogs
