Something is wrong here. You should have any entry for eth0 instead
of two for lo. Check /etc/init.d/network and make sure the ifconfig

I believe this is the Motif library. You'll either have to purchase

At minimum, you'll need to define a named.ho
ve to issue a "chmod" which many windows client a reluctant to

The bestial solution might be to upgrade to wu-ftpd, but I would rather not.

My PC is a Pentium 150/ 32 Mb RAM/ 500 Mb disk for linux/
I installed the packages. OK. I recompiled the Kernel to get free of unused
drivers. OK. And now, I run XFre
just started using the USRobotics 33.6 PC-Card with linux that
supports Modem (Cellular ready), fax, voice, and ties to my sound
card. So far have only used the modem with debian but works
well.

I was also surpised that Linux was not that much better than DO$ for the
multitasking of floppy formatting: the system stops responding, and if you then
eject the disk...

Xfree 3.2 is out, and I just noticed that there was a code
freeze for Debian 1.2. So, is there any plan for including Xfree 3.2
in Debian 1.2 ?

There latest is dated september 1996 and it does include
Debian-1.1.4. This is not the latest stable release but its
a good starting point. You can istall from the CD and then
upgrade using ftp. Very nice!

I just installed Debian ON a 1Gb IOmega Jaz driver: it gets recognized at the
bios level, just when you insert the root/boot disks! The resulting system is
of course not too fast, but enough to get a feeling, without any worry for
other installed systems.
