LILO to work.
My setup is :
Intel CPU
SCSI disk 1 (sda) dedicated to Windows 95
SCSI disk 2 (sdb) dedicated to linux, debian 2.0, kernel 2.0.34 installed from
CDROM.
Root partition is /dev/sdb1.
Linux boots correctly
t should be the ownership/permission of /var/spool/mail? Or
should /usr/sbin/imapd be sgid mail?

We've been using the 3c905 at 100 Mbit for over a year on several
debian unstable systemswith no problems. Probably your problem is
that your kernel/modules don't support this card. Simply compile a
custom kernel including support for this card.

No. The FSSTND was designed to support a read-only /usr.
The FHS is the next iteration of FSSTND, the Linux file system
standard.

Could be many things. First make sure the ethernet device and
routing table was properly configured on machine 1. Then check that
machine 2 has telnet enabled in the /etc/inetd.conf file.

AHA 2940UW works reliably here. Performance seems good though I
haven't done timing studies.

I've been using the 3c59x driver for this card for several months now
with no problems at all. You may need to set the options in the
modules.conf or at boot from lilo. See the 3c59x.c file for details.

I believe your correct. PS/2 is a bus mouse and shouldn't require a
serial driver. This is probably being started in one of the programs
in /etc/init.d which you can edit out it you like.
