xine runs slow when watching DVDs

I am trying to use xine to watch DVDs but It keeps jerking and dropping frames. I have a Athon 2000XP processor and 256MB of RAM which I think should be OK. the graphics card is a NVIDIA TNT2 using the nvidia drivers. I have included both the output of xvinfo and the file ~/.xine/config if that
