I don't really know, maybe someone who does will chime in here. Just a thought after you compiled your new kernel did you rerun /sbin/lilo before you booted? If not, I'd take the append line out and rerun lilo, boot and see if everything is fine. Just a thought. kent yep I ran lilo after

I have my Deb box on a 192.168.1.xxx network which deb setup during install. I recently needed to change over to direct access (bypassing the intranet) to the internet. I went into linuxconf and made the changes. No Joy ... internet was inaccessable. I have done this on a mandrake box and it
