Is there a known fix or workaround for this?

I'm trying to setup a new machine with netatalk support. I've installed the
idepci flavour of Debian (or whichever the default is when you hit return at
the boot prompt on installation), and it doesn't seem to have netatalk built

Install a recent complete kernel package:
# apt-get install kernel-image-2.4.18-1-386
This kernel package has netatalk support. The netatalk deamons should
start without problems if you are running this kernel.
The BF kernels do not always have everything that you might need.

Hi All,
I have woody running netatalk with
-setpassword in afpd.conf
I'm trying to use the chooser from OS9.2 to change the users password
but it won't allow it.
The syslog reports that the uams_dhx_pam.c was successful,
then reports that the password change failed.
Any help troubleshooting

security conscious debian-security list lurker might know.
Well, I'm no security guru, and I haven't set up netatalk in ages, so
take this with a cc of salt.
My guess would be that this would be something like specifying the
lowest UID that is able to access shares. You should

Greetings. I am a fairly experienced Debian user
(for those of you who wish to get technical) with a
question relating to Netatalk. I maintain a low
security mac lab and it, for the most part, has been
working fine as a file server for me. However, I have
run into one large hitch; I
I'm running this distro http://www.e-smith.org/ on a box for my
colleagues. The only feature that I use is the Ibay, this lets me
create a directory that is accessible through samba (windows), netatalk
(apple), www and ftp. It will also let me treat user home directories as
Ibays.

The services are ppp, printing, backup, etc. I have had it working for

Hi all,
To establish a netatalk server (Woody) with encrypted passwords,
would I do this:
apt-get install netatalk
apt-get install libssl09
or is there more to setup?
The workstations are OS 9 or higher.
Thanks in advance!!

Hello all --
I'm attempting to build netatalk from its source package, due to the
fact that the binary package doesn't seem to support encrypted passwords. I
keep getting an error after doing:
debian/rules binary
debian/rules build works fine and completes without any noticeable errors.

problems and so on. Now I've tried netatalk from potato
several months ago and when it didn't work just out of the box I gave up
and thought it's not worth it. Maybe I should try again I don't know.
I don't very much with rebuilding packages and developing and all
that.
I just downloaded
