It seems as though you are equating the FOSS Xorg driver named modesetting with
kernel modesetting (KMS). They are not the same thing.
The proprietary NVidia Xorg driver, unless something has changed lately that I'm

Je complète avant que la question soit posée…
Si la commande te dit que le paquet n'est pas trouvé, c'est parce que le
bon dépôt (« non-free ») ne se trouve pas dans ton fichier sources.list.
Pour corriger cela:
1)ajoute (en root) non-free à la ligne qui ressemble à ça dans le fichier
