After this morning's dist-upgrade (sid), restarting X resulted in a
dead keyboard.
I can run X from startx without a problem, but as soon as I use kdm or
gdm (I did not try xdm) the keyboard is dead.

the HorizSync and VertRefresh values in the log file are not the same as in the
config file.
So you could check: Is the path to the config file correct? Is there any other

I'm trying to use XFree86 4.0.1 with a SIS620 but i'm having some
problems.
First I had to use the options "NoAccel" and "FastVRam" to make the X
server start. After I make "startx" the X server starts but the screen
is all black (sometimes the mouse cursor appears).

I've installed testing on my laptop, it installed XFree 4.1.0 (which is
very nice BTW), but unfortunately I need to move back to XFree 3.3.6. I
have a Mach64 controller in this laptop and the XFree 4.1.0 driver only
since the upgrade, video performance is pretty bad. What could cuase this?

Upgraded to 4.1.10 (on a 2.4.10 kernel) and am not able to get the
XF86Config-4 to work

I now found a (minor?) clue to my problem (signal 11 on screen activity
if xserver in background and virtual console in foreground):
When I disable font anti-aliasing under KDE the xserver does NOT crash!
Any idea now? (I still believe it's an xfree86 problem!)
