Changed when they released the new version. About 3 months back. Check the
archives of this list. We were complaining about it. We dumped using their
product and just use the AVG built into Declude.

I have never experienced that problem. Not even with the latest version
3.15. This updates the virus defs regardless of version, and has never
failed once in the two years we have been running F-Prot..

IMO, not so. Using all other Windows based scanners, McAfee, Symantec,
Sophos, etc. and the DOS version of F-Prot do not require any one to be
logged in. Again, I
Actually it's just about opposite of that. Since Declude calls F-Prot directly you
don't need to be logged in for it to work. The scheduler in the Windows version only
runs if you are logged in.
I haven't have any problems with being logged in with the screen locked so that's how
I've handled

Hello
As I don't have the DOS version I'm not familiar with it, but we are
having a similar discussion here regarding the windows version. Assuming
that servers should never be left logged in, how do you get the Windows

We use the Windows version. The included scheduler automatically checks
every X number of hours for new anti-virus definitions. We set
doh.
I guess some things are just too easy .. thanks. I'll blame it on being
tired on a Sunday morning ;)
I thought the F-Prot executable was being updated by that wget script you
wrote a while back, but it looks like I'm still running 3.12.
