What I mean is:
1. Log in in GDM with a user for the first time
2. Create 2 panels on top of screen
3. Log out so that GDM appears again
4. Now log in your Gnome session again
5. The error message will appear

It happens at least with all my mp3 and ogg. I don't have the problem with
mplayer though.
The load is about ~80% system time and 20% user time.

area? Could you run "rhythmbox -d" and note what the log does exactly
