actually the funny thing is it does have proxy support.
just add it in the config file manually, or add it to the server with
normal xchat and xchat-gnome will be able to use it.
i think it just needs the ui frontend for the config edit support.

When I plug in an NTFS formatted external USB hard drive and try to open
it in the file browser I get "Unable to mount the selected volume.
mount: only root can mount /dev/sda1 on /media/sda1. I can manually

Indeed, the Totem volume control doesn't affect the master volume, or any other
hardware mixer: Totem uses a software mixer.
The slider from the gnome mixer applet only affects the master volume.
XMMS by default (in Ubuntu) defaults to the hardware PCM mixer. I don' t know
about mplayer...

1. Open Nautilus and go to /usr/share/example-content.
2. Click to open SeeUbuntu.ogg, Totem opens playing the file.
3. Close Totem.

It does, try "firefox -new-window google.com". That's not the problem,
if firefox is on the current workspace you may want it to open a new
tab.

It isn't transparent on my system. That is, if I choose to have the
button, it is, but text box mode is not transparent.

I can confirm this with dapper flight 7 livecd: The partition manager

Creating translated links is not the perfect solution to this. Has
upstream already made a decision on this? It was discussed some monthes
ago but I lost the track.

I use transparent panels, and deskbar applet doesn't fit this theme very well.
it needs to be transparent, that way, it won't matter what colour your panels
are set up to.
