Hello guys, thanks for your work on this great OS. Respect is due :)
Go to places, and drag home folder onto your desktop, and try rename it
to a space. I do this to all my folders and just set emblems to make the

not a folder". i know this. what i want is for nautilus to show me
"/etc/" with the file "passwd" selected.

for me, gp was eating up to 90 %
removing menu-xdg solved the issue, though it forced me to also remove the side
kubuntu packages. As some others, I'd like to keep both. So a long term
solution would be appreciated ;-)
Also note that it had side effect, like the one mentionned in lp bug
57516...
I getting almost the exactly the same problem since I've upgraded from
breezy to dapper.
I've also noticed that once a constant amount of network traffic between
the printer and the ubuntu PC which continues until I kill the processes
owned by cupsys printing for user pjc.

I'm seeing exactly the same behaviour on Dapper. Auto-detect reports
the wrong camera, yet i can go into gphoto2 --shell and manipulate
images. I can also use gphoto2 --get-all-files to get the files.
However, when i plug it in and the dialog box pops up, it shows up as
the Argus DC-1510, and i c
status Rejected
That is an update from QuinnStorm, not Ubuntu.

If the process hangs in eternal kernel sleep, then it is probably
hanging in some non-returning ioctl. Since it was fixed by a CD-ROM
firmware upgrade, it's most likely a hardware problem, but maybe this
can be timed out in the kernel in some way.

BTW, Dapper's and Edgy's kernel also have native support for Broadcom

Right click a file, choose property, click the "open with" tab,
then it's unable to click on any radio button to change the default
application setting, it just don't response.

I'm sorry I didn't make myself clear. Writable CDs which have never been
written to return an error when I try to mount them, but Nautilus
doesn't provide an option to write stuff to them either (the "write to
disk" button in the CD recorder appears greyed out and you can only
write ISOs
This issue has been fixed upstream in CVS. I don't know if/how to close
this bug

I ran into this while using Edgy on a chroot, which has no /dev or
/var/run/dbus --bind mounted, so Edgy's nautilus can't see running dbus. I
didn't think of looking dependencies recursively, so I guess this is sorted.
That dbus restart bug seems to plague many (all?) applications that
connect

For me, removing the file helps only temporarily. With the file, I get

Steps to reproduce:
1. Mount a samba share using nautilus, store the password in gnome-keyring when
prompted.
2. Add some music tracks from that share into the rhythmbox library
3. Reboot
4. Start rhythmbox
Expected result:

I still think that as gaim doesn't know anything about what's going on
with your desktop, it should be able to simply create a new window and
have the WM figure out where it should go. We shouldn't have to do
anything special with new windows to avoid metacity issues.

Why did you set the status to "rejected"? Nautilus STILL have a bug in the
burning CD routine for sure!
I think it's the combination of nautilus burning CD function together with some
older CD-burner models what causes the touble.
