I have not checked but is it certain that 1.7.1 requires the latest gsf? If it

Sebastien, good idea with destroying the window and thanks for the

I've attached a patch for gpixpod. Unfortunately, I couldn't get glade
to cooperate with me and destroy the dialog for me, so it's pure pygtk

It seems that lockup no longer occur If scim is disabled. So if you are
not using scim, you need to type "im-switch -s scim-pinyin" in order to

It looks that the problem is related to some leftover files in
/usr/lib/firefox/components, especially compreg.dat. Removing
compreg.dat resolved this problem for me. Does this work for you as
well?

Many opengl screensavers crash with proper 3d support. There is already
a bug about this, but for some strange reason the 3d-screensavers are
still installed and enabled with a default install of ubuntu.
At least you were able to get a crash log. I've had many machines just
come to a grinding halt
I have had several matrox, intel and ati based graphics cards that with
the default install would CRASH upon about half of the opengl-
screensavers.
If the screensavers that require 3D are in seperate packages, why are

Unmounting the drive and running formating the drive from terminal does
not cause remount of the usb drive. Just throught I would mention it as
it indicates that it is gparted that causes gnome to remount the drive.

Sorry Jani, didn't see your comment before. I can't see any other Edgy-
specific bug reports in LP that are fixed by 1.7.1. But 1.7.1 does fix a
long list of bugs reported in bugzilla.gnome.org, as the release notes
describe.
If we keep 1.7.0 in for Edgy, it's only a matter of time before more of
Power-manager only present stuff reported by HAL, and lshal does not
report battery and lid. /proc/acpi has entries for battery and lid, so I
suspect kernel is presenting them to userspace, this is why I think HAL
is the prime suspect, but it can also be the kernel reporting some state
differently

I had this same issue so I removed the older libdbus-1-2 (0.60-6) package and
vmware worked without the hack.
Why the upgrade to edgy did not remove the older dbus? The only package that
depended on it was nautilus-burn3 which was out-of-date anyway.

It would be helpful if you could check or coordinate with upstream to
confirm whether other gnuneric busg in ubuntu would be fixed by this. A
strong argument is needed in favor of upgrading this late to 1.7.1, and
if the upgrade fixed many of the current LP bugs that would be one such
argument.
