With the upgrade to gnome-{panel,applets}-2.28, the battstat simply
applet disappeared. There is no way to actually get the information of
the remaining battery time prominently back in a place in a panel I'd
like.
Just the percentage infor
I still have this or a similar issue with today's Karmic. If I choose
'shutdown' from the session menu, I am logged out, but the computer does
not shut down.
In the daemon.log, I get the following message:

Just to add I will monitor this issue and post updates as to the progress.
I have left messages on the dropbox forum indicating the problems with dropbox
and ubuntu.
Please note that dropbox is a closed source application so Ubuntu is

confirmation about the second workaround which implies that
libxklavier15 is to blame.

The issue is that remote sessions to a NoMachine NX Server doesn't get
the correct theme.
This has been present since release of Jaunty and is also present using
Karmic and libxklavier15 4.0-4ubu

Binary package hint: nautilus
Nautilus shows that the folder VIDEO_TS that I made with my camcoder is
empty, but when I browse that folder with Terminal it shows all of them.
This bug is also present in Ubuntu Karmic.
Note that Dolphin in KDE has no problem with it.
Problem
I have since positivily confirmed that the issue was dropbox. I uninstalled the
application and the problem went away.
I had started to roll the package out and found it to not work over a samba
drives on the network using nautilus mounted drives.

Trying with wav is likely not worth your while. Though it would make
sure that it is not a flac issue.
I did try brasero audio burning with wav and flac today on the daily
live 20091026.2 karmic-desktop-amd64.iso on an extensa 5635Z. Worked
fine all three times. So it is definitely not a general p
