I am now able to successfully write to DVD and CD using Brasero,
Gnomebaker or XFBurn.
Still appear to get the same errors in the dmesg log when a blank DVD

highlighted, which make thing very awkward and confusing for the user.

For what I see in Hardy, Jaunty and Karmic *.ts are still mapped to
application/x-linguist by /usr/share/mime/packages/freedesktop.org.xml.
The problem has been reported upstream two month ago (see ). But for
10.04 LTS we should fix it by a patch, if it is not fixed upstrea

I ran a "apport-collect 368946" to provide you with some more
information.
This is a really nasty bugger. I have been playing around with it for a
while now but could not find any 'workaround' so far.
I reactivated CRTL + ALT + Backspace to kill X to see if it helps, but it does

I can reproduce the problem consistently on my computer, but only with
Compiz enabled. I realised now that the problem doesn't occur without
Compiz.
1. Enable Compiz (System > Preferences > Appearance > Visual Effects tab >
Normal).
2. Move the mouse to the edge of the screen over some gnome-pan
