It looks more like a stride issue to me. There were no such reports in the
past about normal setups, i.e. setups, where the experimental fractional
scaling setting is not used.

experimental fractional scaling however,
This is a mutter issue. The cursor data is provided in an incorrect way
from there.

A boot with 5.0.0-13 (available in boot menu after install) rather than default
5.0.0-20 provided the same symptoms.

How did you set the display profile? Using the Color applet of GNOME
Control Center? There are known issues with the GNOME Settings Daemon
color plugin when there is no display marked primary.
So EOG may not be at fault here.

I have never seen this crash again since that one time. I suppose it was
a race condition between two instances of the daemon running
simultaneously.

border. Activating or deactiving this option doesn't seem to have any
effect on the resulting screenshot.

Just to confirm that this problem still exists in 10.10.
I started having this problem today on Ubuntu 10.10 (full disk
encryption, auto login). The box pops up There is a problem with
configuration server. (/usr/lib/libgconf2-4/gconf-sanity-check-2 exited
with status 256) near the end of the

Mmmh, that's strange... The versions of evince and lipoppler did not
change for me, however, evince is now able to open the mentioned files.
So, I'll close the bug again.

evince does not open eps files generated by
I reopen this bug as there are still eps files that evince cannot open.
I attached such one which I generated with gnuplot. The attached eps
file in the first post cannot be opened by evince, too.
I'm using maverick (up-to-date) with 64bit.

wonder why I can not log ...
