Another note. After connecting the drive it takes some time to be
recongniced and if I do a dmesg I get hundreds of lines like these:

This bug was reported one year ago. It seems that nobody cares about it.
It's very frustating to have a 500GB hard disk with 1MBps (or less) file
transfers. The solution? Change the computer or install windows. I've tested
FreeBSD, many linux flavours and OpenSolaris with the same results (do the
found a workaround until the bug is fixed.

Sorry for that. I just wanted to help. And it is in fact a duplicate, so why
not mark it as one?
There were two good reasons for doing so:

render it I think, and if the graphics card does not do this, then the
CPU has to do it and uses much CPU. So I think it makes sense to open an

I think that this has to do with the video driver. The new graph uses cairo (?)
and this must be rendered. This has to do the graphic card, but it the driver
does not support this, the CPU must do this, which results in a very heavy CPU
usage.
That a new nvidia driver could fix this problem show
