Don't worry, the priority in Launchpad is not relevant for this bug
since Ubuntu developers won't fix it. GTK+ guys who are working on that
use their own (subjective) priority. Anyway, priorities only bind people

The GtkFileChooserDialog is resizing itself after being shown. This is
the root problem, which causes positioning issues even when the dialog
is not too small. This is a GTK bug, there are several rough patches
proposed upstream, and the commit that introduced the problem is
identified. Now, Compiz
AFAICS, there's no reason why a well-designed dialog should resize
itself immediately after being shown. So the bug is in GTK+, maybe
there's something in Compiz too but that's not the real source of the
issue. Please check that Metacity does not trigger this before going
further on that subject.

what they say.

Here's the output of dmesg. The I/O errors look like saying that /dev/sdb1
cannot be read, and this is normal since the hard disk is on /dev/sdc now, as
states mount:

What would be nice here is that gnome-volume-manager allows you to kill
the application in case it does so, or at least to tell which app is
involved. But the file manager hasn't to check what the helper

Same here. This is very bad because in the past we used to have a nice
dialog explaining why DVD support could not be installed by default and
how to turn it on. Now we just have a poor error.

read CSS-encrypted DVDs withouth aving installed libdvdcss2. And if you
have done so, you cannot experience the bug.
Maybe there are two bugs here: I assumed bmdavis had problems with
encrypted DVDs because unencrypted ones are

I have to confirm that this bug us clearly *fixed* on my desktop (using
"Extra" set of effects). So there must be something in the upgrades that
worked.

This is a known bug, present in the Release Candidate iso images. Please
install all updates of compiz so that you have the version

The new implementation of the GtkFilechooser (2.12) is great: we now
have 'Recent files' and 'Search' in the 'Places' bar. But these two new
items don't need the same UI space at th top of the selector. So when
you click them, they move up, and when you choose a standard locat

I guess .eml files should be automatically recognized by shared-mime-
info (thus by nautilus) as emails to open with the default mail
application, even when their header is missing (since there is no
ambiguity about the contents of the file). One may want to remove the
"From" header from the file.
I should have precised: Thunderbird in Gutsy correctly saves mails from
inbox, but not from sentbox (as said in the description). There are two
parts in this bug.
