This is interesting. NTP should, by default, bind to all local
interfaces, on UDP, and should be able to recover by itself.
Can you attach a 'grep ntp /var/log/daemon.log' piece here, long enough
to show the system startup some few hours of run?
** Changed in: network-manager (Ubuntu)
I will look more closely at what is going on, James. On your last
comment: yes, this is a known, huh, issue/limitation: if there is no
name server resolution available, then fully-qualified hostnames (like
ntp.ubuntu.com, or pool.ntp.org, etc) will not get resolved -- after
all, they do depend on
and... yes indeed. Per chance I had started my laptop with a wireless
connection, driven by n-m.
Here's the NTP messages for the startup:
Mar 8 18:28:00 localhost ntpd[8566]: ntpd [EMAIL PROTECTED] Wed Mar 7
20:43:39 UTC 2007 (1)
Mar 8 18:28:00 localhost ntpd[8567]: precision = 1.000 usec
more digging in required (thanks, Matt, your comments, and of those in
#ubuntu-bugs helped a lot).
I am always amazed by the depth of my ignorance...
/etc/network/if-(up|down|post-down|pre-up).d scripts are the
responsibility of each package: NTP, NTPdate, and others. These scripts
are executed
There is a comment in http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-
bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=399905 about this issue, and it refers to an
upstream bug (https://ntp.isc.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=51) where it is
strongly recommended not to bounce ntpd on I/F status changes.
This is (probably) the reason why
Just did it. It still reports the root as almost full.

not quite correct in the VMWare saved image, and I will

Is there a package with debugging symbols available for totem*? Anyway,

Can you check on how the negotiation goes with such a session? For

No matter what, you might want to have a look at
Sorry for the question, but did you configure your IMAP account (in

In fact, what version of Evolution are you running? 2.11 seems to allow

You
Sigh. Yes, I sort of tend to agree with you. My personal issue is that I
had it when I upgraded to beta Feisty, and eventually I got to correct
it -- and I do not remember what I did :-(
If I could remember, this would at least point us to the general
direction of this extremely bothersome bug.
I do not have a clue, either, but at least I am (huh, was) a programmer.
From a brief look this afternoon I do not think this is related to
libcairo anymore. It is interesting this affects Evolution only (or so
it seems). It seems to be related to how Evolution gets its printing
defaults and GTK
this will take slightly longer than I expected -- I had to downgrade
Firefox related due to no source being available for the current 2.0.4
firefox version. I am now building Evolution GTK2.0. When I am done
with that I will go into gdb to backtrack the A4 thingy.
--
MASTER: [Feisty] Evolution
Well, well, well... nothing beats having a nice debugger the code
build to reference the source... it took me about 15 minutes (after
building installing my versions) to zero in it.
It is possible this has been resolved somewhere between Evolution 2.10.1
(Feisty version) and Evolution 2.11.4
it seems Evolution sets a hardcoded default, and GTK does not override
it with the actual printer settings. I wonder what would happen on
printers that can load two or three different paper sizes... mine does
not -- one single size.
So. Time to look usptream, on GTK for a change.

Yes, I know, one more. But apport-retrace cannot work on the crash dump
locally, and I really would like to be able to dig into this.
Since I do not know -- yet -- how to reproduce it, I decided to upload
it (since apport *does* read

Hello Sarah,
the error is being reported against gnome-panel, not automatix2 -- or

@all: right now I think the only real option is to change the iso_a4
setting to whatever paper size you would like to use, and rebuild Evo.
Note that for US Letter the string is na_letter, all lower case.
@Michael Trausch: you are correct, the extra page is reported on that

Unfortunately there is no backtrace... you forgot to execute 'bt' after
the SIGSEGV.
Please try again. After the gdb reports a SIGSEGV, issue 'bt' -- this
will print the backtrace. Then please attach the results here.

Jerome, could you please run with CAMEL_DEBUG=all instead of
CAMEL_DEBUG=1? 'All' will give us more data. After the run please attach
the output here -- at least a continuous segment from a bit before the
problem to a bit after the problem.

Could you please set up a log on filter, and then filter again one such

to set up the log run:
gconftool-2 --type bool --set /apps/evolution/mail/filters/log true
gconftool-2 --type string --set /apps/evolution/mail/filters/logfile
~/evo-filter.log

@all: an update -- upstream developer has asked for his printing fixes
to be included in Evo 2.11.5. If this happens, I think we may get it
soon. Of course, this will fix an upcoming version of Evo, *not*
Feisty's -- right now. But if it does indeed work, we can hope for a
backporting to Feisty.
maybe I am missing something here... at least on Feisty/Gutsy, firing
either Internet/Evolution Mail or[ Internet/Evolution (Groupware

*same* Evolution, with Calendar, Contacts, etc as buttons, and Mail
