In Xubuntu totem fails to play sound in some avi and mkv files. VLC plays sound
in this files just fine. Sometimes the sound is just absent, sometimes I can
hear only the noise. The problem is quite random - the same file may work one
day and dosn't work few hours later.

I have the same issue on a HP Compaqnw8440. Just finished upgrading to 11.10
and I am connected to the INTERNET using wicd network manager. Still the
Network Manager applet is showing no wireless available and the message is
device not ready.
During login process I receive a message telling
