I need a more handy shortcut to toggle the maximization state of a
window, I change the shortcut from Ctrl-Alt-Num5 to Alt-Shift-W. It
works during the current session, but when I reboot, it is back to Ctrl-
Alt-Num5.
I expected the settings to be preserved after reboot.
I just tried again and it worked as expected. It seems there's more to it than
just rebooting.

For those who have hybrid video Intel/AMD.
Install xserver-xorg-video-intel and fglrx-updates from this PPA[1].
After installing it, don't forget to setup xorg.conf with aticonfig
tool. That worked for me.

I see what you mean.
To clarify:
when you open a folder on the result list, if you then try to go back, you'll
find the results list is gone, and you must repeat the search from scratch.
