UPDATE: I found the packages in bionic-updates.
After setting prime-select nvidia and logging out, I got the attached
/var/log/gpu-manager.log.
It says that nvidia is not loaded, and my laptop still runs hot.
When I set prime-select intel, log out, and back in, nvidia is still not
loaded

The file manager has been stripped of a lot of (imo useful)
functionalities, since my first Ubuntu install (12.04). Now, the toption
to bookmark locations seems to have been removed
Have updated the patch to work with 18.04, here are the instructions I
just used to build it (personally I builds like this in a VM)...
ultimately you get the file 'network-manager-
gnome_1.8.10-2ubuntu1_amd64.deb' and that is the only thing you need to
install on normal 18.04 system where you
OK. I apparently had to chmod permissions on .cache/apport to allow it
to write the credentials file.
Now I get: "You are not the reporter or subscriber of this problem
report, or the report is a duplicate or already closed."
On the bright side, I haven't seen a black window in a couple of days.

After upgrading to Ubuntu 18.10 from Ubuntu 18.04, when logging in my one of my
two external displays will not be activated without hotplugging the other

I verified evince 3.28.4-0ubuntu1 from bionic-proposed with a broad
range of PDF and PS documents, some very simple, some complex with
thousands of pages and a variety of fonts and graphics and didn't find
any issue.

I think we'll just fix this in bionic via the HWE stack update. Backport
to xenial would basically mean updating stock bionic kernel/mesa and
then backport those to xenial. A big patchset to the kernel is unlikely
to get approved..

I tried with fonts-noto-color-emoji 0~20180810-0ubuntu1 from bionic-
proposed and the new emojis are rendered correctly in the webbrowser and
in a terminal and aren't with previous version of the font installed.
