So I did have a look at the source of udisks2 (this is in
'udiskslinuxfilesystem.c') and the reason for why this happens as it
does is obvious (the reason WHY the code does it like this is less
obvious to me though...).

I have been able to get around this bug on IBM T60/x1400 running Kubuntu
12.04, by using kwin_gles desktop manager instead of the default one
(kwin).
I had problems with sound slowing down and being very choppy when
desktop effects were enabled, or when playing full-screen flash videos.

I have the problem on my Thinkpad T410. However the problem only
started for me when I added a second battery "slice" to the bottom of
the laptop.
It disturbs proper power management as it thinks power is low (measuring
percentage power left instead of remaining time given current
consumption).

To report this bug, I had to boot the daily live image with the
"nomodeset" option. Even the new software-rendered Unity desktop you
get in this case is barely usable due to heavy repainting issues, but
that might be another bug.

I tried it now on my HP Probook Notebook -> same bug.
Fresh installation of Xubuntu 12.04.1, then "apt-get dist-upgrade" to the
newest kernel "3.2.0-30.48-generic".
In this notebook is an ATI card, but it happens also without the driver, so it
seems not ATI or NVIDIA related..

This is again a problem on Precise. I have to delay the startup of Samba
until CUPS is started, otherwise it won't find the shared printer.
