setup (printer + cable) working well on 11.04 but when I was forced to
upgrade I went to 12.04 and had this printer problem which pushed me to

It does seem that a beta from Thunderbird 17 (from ubuntu mozillateam)
fixes the issue for me. The fix does not seem to be in Thunderbird-trunk
yet, I hope it gets there...
I re-downloaded all my email from zarafa-IMAP with thunderbird 17 beta
from mozillateam and after many hours of waiting, and
I simple option box to deselect DE setting within the program should
solve the problem if the program is properly coded. It must clearly

finished building. To install:
