Hi xubo,

Thank you for suggesting this. Totally agree with it. Containerising carbon
data is much needed one.
Few inputs to consider
1. Since most of the users are not using spark 2.4 and spark 2.4 we have to
put effort in removing the support.
2. We can support docker container for spark 3

Hi,
In addition to this, the probability of false positives will be more when
we just push the runtime filter of source data min max ok target as it
purely depends on source data.
Even I had done POC by just adding a range filter on target table.
We need file level or block level pruning like
Hi David,
Are you talking about the dynamic run-time filter pushdown of spark ? If
that is the case, I had already raised a discussion fee months back to do
the similarly in Carbondata to improve carbon join by using carbondata's
metadata. But since spark is already doing it , it's decided not

As Ravindra said, we should do it at outputFormat level, so that the same
implementation will be used to improve the simpler update performance in
the future.
So design should be like SDK will call update and delete of Outputformat to
do the operations.

It's good to support complex for presto. Please include other types of map
and struct also in th same document.
If you can elaborate more on the implementation of nested array types in
the design doc, it would be helpful.

carbon data file which
is the current
