You should list the included files in the DEPENDENCIES file and if the included
files come with the requirement to notice this inclusion, they have to be added
to the NOTICE file, too.

Recently I did work in that area. But I am not constantly on.
I suggest you go ahead and commit ...
As long as you don't break anything, there should not be a big problem.

A while ago I submitted a patch to JIRA issue
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/FELIX-2292. I would really like this
patch to be applied to the trunk. What would be the best way to get this
done ? I do have comitter rights on the Felix project since I'm doing work
