Hi,
This is a Apache Flex 4.13.0 release candidate 2. Please see the
RELEASE_NOTES and the README.
There is a known bug in Adobe Flash Builder 4.6 and 4.7 that causes a
issue when creating new applications.
Adobe has provided a work around for FB 4.7 but not for 4.6.
The release candidate can b
For your purpose, I say go for it. Try to get as much autonomy as you can
to administer the machine, cause Infra isn't always available or in the
mood to help out, though ;-)

This is the discuss thread.
I built the binaries against AIR 14 (not the beta, since it is a beta).
Besides the latest LICENSE and NOTICE, I also added logging locale changes
and localization of the COPY LOG button.
Changes are minor so votes carry over.

Please vote to approve Apache Flex SDK Installer version 3.1 to be
released.
Issues addressed in this release:
- Installer will report more information when installs fail.
- Bugs fixed in ant_on_air required by latest nightly builds of FalconJX
and FlexJS
- Caching logic moved to the install scrip
Going for RC5 with current advice about LICENSE and NOTICE

Sorry, was sleepingÅ
Things changed a couple of times so it is hard to keep track. For RC2 we
were bundling GCL from the GOOG_HOME on the RMs machine. For the RC3 I am
working on, I reverted that back to RC1 and 0.0.1 behavior where the
installer.xml downloads it from somewhere. For RC3, it wil

On a side note, I have been working on a graphics sub system that uses SVG
to draw stuff on the screen in FlexJS.
I hope to commit that sometime soon so that others can use these APIs to
draw things Flash and HTML.

We still have IE8 users here at work ATM (always behind). I still vote don't
bother supporting it. There is always the flash player for it for IE8 users.
IE9 is the first version that starts supporting newer standards and it's not
until IE10 that it can start supporting HTML5 elements consis
My opinion is to ignore IE8. Anyone running IE8 can use Flash and IE8 support
can be provided as a swf. I think FlexJS should concentrate on modern browser
support.

I'm developing a PieChart component for FlexJS. I've got a decent start on the
ActionScript version. I want to use SVG for the JavaScript version. From what I
can tell, SVG is not supported at all on IE8. It seems that anyone who really
wants to run on IE8 substitutes a bitmap for the SVG when t
Hi,
I just got notice that INFRA would be willing to setup a dedicated Windows
Jenkins Agent that we could use? It would be great if they would do that cause
this way we could automatically deploy SNAPSHOT versions to the maven repo. I
would like to accept the offer, but wanted to double chec
Well I'm going to look on the bright side, that I still have a setup to test it
again lol.

Hi folks,
Could I have my humble suggestions:
1. Alex is doing so much things, we can see he is very busy these days. So
about the Legal Issues, can Apache assign someone specifically to do the Legal
works (Licence & Notice etc.), instead of having Alex to do it.
2. I like the attitude of Just
Ok, best as I can tell, the GCL in the binaries is taken from GOOG_HOME on
the machine on which the release is built. It is not actively pulled from
Git, unless it's built on our build VM using 'jenkins.xml'.
Since the Installer uses the binaries, this means it never has to pull the

I'm having some trouble following the "flow" of a FlexJS installation
through the Installer... That's why my question might seem weird to the
only one who knows how this stuff works ;-) I'm working my way through the

I didn't understand your question about ant_on_air. It already supports
exec. But I don't think we need it for GCC/GCL. I think I'm all set
until the GCL package on GH changes.
ant_on_air should only consume the ant scripts when running the installer
on a binary package. The source package is
I've 'fixed' the ES6 issue, so the new version of the GCC is good to go.
That leaves the 'ant_on_air != ant' issue...

I've said about all I can without repeating myself. It seems I'm not alone
in wishing to move on, and that's what I'm going to do.

P.S. If you could stop implying (in public) that I don't take my
responsibilities as PMC member seriously, that would be lovely.

I only wish you would spend the time this discussion is taking on fixing
the SDK or adding new features to it. This micromanaging of a tiny
inconsequential detail in a file no one ever reads is really beyond
ridiculous.

I'd prefer we didn't do that - more download means more that can go wrong, URLs
can change, not work etc etc

Hi,
So we are fine with being inconstant here?
For instance for Flex Unit we have copyright in LICENSE:
Some of the code in the directories FlexUnit4UIListener and
FlexUnit4CIListener of FLexUnit is based on Flex Unit 1. This code is
licensed under the BSD 3-clause license and copyright (c
The checksum requirement makes us go into download.xml when updating
anyway, and I like to keep some measure of control over the version, so we
can update at our leisure. For the current update, for example, the
examples will not readily compile due to some changes into the GC parsers
for ES6, appa
