That sounds like an accurate assessment. I have not contacted any potential
target communities.

This would mitigate the issues of the community being inactive and the core

I feel like the htrace core library doesn't really need active development,
but I worry that retiring htrace will encourage other projects to drop it
as a dependency. If it had a home as a subproject, perhaps people would
continue to use it even if releases were infrequent. IMO that would be

We had a report due yesterday, but could probably still submit it if we get
it done in the next couple of days. Anyone want to draft something?

We should have a discussion about HTrace's status. We were talking about

Hey Colin,
It's customary to state the incubator vote result in terms of the number of

The only odd thing I noticed about the source tarball was the contents of
the htrace-htraced/go/web directory. There are a bunch of files in there,
and that directory doesn't exist in the git repo, nor does it exist in the
source tarball I generated myself. However, it is an exact copy of the

Hey everyone,
I just remembered we have a board report due today (
https://wiki.apache.org/incubator/September2015). Anyone have time to put
this together? The wiki page will still be editable for a few days, so
perhaps the report could be submitted a little late if necessary.

That sounds like one of the things that only INFRA has the permission to
change. Here are a couple of relevant tickets:

Abe, thanks for taking on RM responsibilities. Please append your key to
our KEYS file. Also, you should get someone to sign your key. :-)

There are some compiled class files in the src tarball in the
htrace-htraced/bin directory. That's the only issue I can see, though.

Just wanted to let you know I've switched Accumulo trunk over to HTrace
3.1.0-incubating. Also I'll be giving a talk at the Accumulo Summit in
April on tracing and how to use it with Accumulo.

Looks like HTrace is scheduled to report in March, but I don't think we got
a notification. Due date is Wednesday, March 4th:

The good news is that the previous issues appear to be resolved in this
release candidate -- awesome work, Stack. The bad news is that this RC
appears to be based on master branch, rather than 3.1 branch. I noticed
this because the master's LICENSE isn't up to date (for which I've opened

The binary files are back in this tarball. Was the git clean intentionally
removed from htrace-core/pom.xml in 40cb0fdea? It looks like there's an
unresolved conflict in .gitignore from that commit, too.

Sorry for the delay; I'm just getting back from vacation and am taking a

I'm still trying to figure out what's going on. I think you should go

I think we are supposed to have monthly="true" in the reporting tag in the

month. We should change our reporting group to 3 if we want January to be
our first reporting month. Then we would report Jan, Feb, Mar, and Mar,
