Hi all.Does anyone have any knowledge or experience of the launchpad.net platform for distributed translation efforts? It's used by Ubuntu Linux for all their packages -- there's even an option "Translate this application" that takes you straight to the site if you right-click e.g. the taskbar on t

So, to summarise so far: -- launchpad.com uses the Rosetta system for distributed translation efforts -- numerous OOo l10n projects already use Rosetta -- any work done at launchpad.com will get integrated into the Ubuntu distribution by the Ubuntu team -- the giant .po files used on this system ca

Hi Tim, hi all, Does this provide the same sort of service that e.g. Pootle does? Is there any reason not to use it? It would certainly seem to facilitate the task of coordinating contributions from different people. The Kurdish team is using Rosetta. For translating programs that use .po-files

Hello, sorry to jump in this discussion, but although I have no experience with Launchpad, I read and heard many people about the fact that Launchpad tools were not exactly open source. By the way, we do have a pootle platform for OOo if you really wish to use it. Best, Charles. -

Hi,As David said, there are switches for converting rosetta-style files.So you can: 1. convert these files to your-language.sdf2. generate new set of po files from this (oo2po)3. merge these files with latest pot-files4. continue translatingOk, we'll try that.
