Hi,
It's duplicate with CONTINUUM-1492.
Can you detailled what kind of proxy you use ? (NTLM authentification ?).
Because as I have explained in CONTINUUM-1492, I have tested this
successfully with adding -Dhttp.proxyHost=proxyhost.com,
-Dhttp.proxyPort=80 (but with auth in the proxy) in the cli.

I put this line in the code before it broke:

I think the biggest problem with fixing this issue is that it will
probably break lots of people's builds. If there is some other indicator
that it shouldn't be inherited, then that would probably be acceptable.

You have this error because you need the latest snapshot of site plugin/doxia.
I deployed a pre-version of the site:
http://people.apache.org/~evenisse/continuum_1.1_site/
It will be available on the continuum site in few days.

It's worrying that this kind of messages still exist for more a year
that I follow that mailling-list, and keep unanswered.
Don't misunderstand my point of view: I'm not blaming someone. I'm
just underlying that there's a major problem in maven2, and this
problem has a name: Surefire.

it is a known limitation that before Maven 2.0.6, plexus-utils version was

that perfectly explains why you have problems when using Maven 2.0.4 but not

The upcoming versions of the site-plugin and project-info-reports-plugin

I'm working on XML encoding support for Maven 2.0.8: did you know? ;)
Everything is ready for Maven itself: IT mng-2254-PomEncoding passes.

I like your comments but let me argue a bit ;)
- what is what makes something stable ? dramatic API changes can go
in 2.0, 3.0,... they don't need to go before 1.0 (if not there would
never be any 1.0 final in any project)
- if something has been out for months/years and did not change

ok, thanks for the information
I'll fix it, there should be no problem since:
1. it already depends on p-u 1.4.2
2. there is no release for the moment
in previous cases the classes were copied and deprecated with big
warnings in the javadocs
I think we talked at some point aoput splitting plexus-utils in what
is really required for maven core and other utils that could be
upgraded in each plugin
