Just to point out - the report was due on 4/4. You'll need to get the report
in very early to ensure your mentors can review.

One question about the below. We've noted that much of the source code for
MXNet is coming from the external DMLC repos. Are there plans to move
those repos into the ASF?

Bhavin,
You may want to review
http://www.apache.org/dev/infra-contact#request-checklist . This section
specifically, but the entire page may be of use.

Dear Apache MXNet Podling,
I would like to request that you migrate off of your external Slack
instance and into the common one used, hosted as the-ask.slack.com. By
default sign up is restricted to @apache.org email addressed, but I would
be happy to facilitate giving more people access to it.
Its great to see community working on a report. don't forget to post it to the
wiki. In addition, I would like to see you move the creation of it into ASF
infrastructure. Many projects use Confluence to write it, others use private
SVN repos.

All,
This coming weekend (9/29) I plan to remove the roster sections from all
podling status pages.
Podling rosters are meant to be managed in Whimsy. The roster in the
status page is redundant and end up out of sync. In place of the roster, I
will be adding a link automatically to all podling

It's not a big deal, since its Apache licensed, we just have to be careful
we're removing someone's pre-existing claim.

Ideally they would provide the contribution under the Apache License, v2.
Are they maintaining these files going forward, or are they ending up in
the Apache MXNet repository? Would they be agreeable to providing an ICLA
or an SGA?
Either way, this falls under the Incubator's IP Clearance policy.

All,
Please be advised that the infra team is aware of a permission problem that
is affecting podlings ability to write to the incubator dist area. This
may cause you to be unable to create staged releases and promote those to
the public mirrors. You can track the status in

So what happens when ZeroMQ is not available, do you fall back to something

I'm inclined to say that this is allowable, knowing that its an optional

Hen,
Can you give some more info about how MXnet uses ZeroMQ? Is it an optional
dependency or required? Are you actually bundling ZeroMQ in your release

All,
We're piloting a new format for the podling status pages. Specifically,
the current status page leaves a lot to be desired - it's basically crafted
html, there's no structure and its hard to find missing items. The end
goal is to have a web form editable in Whimsy, but until we get more inp

I wanted to raise a point to all, hence the direct emails.
The Whimsy PMC has put together a roster tool for managing the committers
in a podling. Rather than managing the committer list in your status file,
this will keep track and make sure we list out everyone's valid IDs.
