I think I haven't quite got it right as to how to manage data in JSF. Can
you please give some sort of a basic infrastructural recommendation.
What I have right now is
1. A datatable with _value_ set to a property of type _DataModel_ in a
backing bean.
2. the backing bean is of session scope.

So it's a good opportunity for both talking about JSF and drinking

Where are we with re-branching for Tomahawk 1.1.4?
Please don't take this as "hurry up, already!" because I have plenty
to keep me busy. :)
I just want to make sure that no one is waiting for me... because I'm
waiting for word that all (or most) of the changes are in.

It might be worthwhile to check out some of the stuff proposed by HLS for
tapestry 5-- I do like the way he/others are handling bindings instead of
exposing them to the end developer. The way bindings/attributes are handled in
JSF are by far the worst aspect of the API (maybe a close second to

I am checking with Ryan Lubke about getting a wiki started at
javaserverfaces-spec-public for ideas from users/developers for JSF 2.0, I'm
sure something would work at apache too :-)

Hi there,
Ed Burns, Jess
regarding the current ajax hype...
what I don't want to see the JSF.next (aka 2.0) is ajax-based
components or even new components like calendar or what ever. Nobody
needs them in a standard!
let's work on the API.
